FAQ
Please read through the following frequently asked questions. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team at bipoc_rp@wested.org. We're here to help!
Who are you looking for to join this opportunity?
This opportunity is for early childhood practitioners/providers who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC) working with young children ages birth to 5 and their families (including pregnant/expectant families) from all fields/areas who have never had a supported professional structure to engage in reflective practice.

What costs will be covered?
This program is fully fiscally sponsored for all participants, including hotel and travel to and from the in-person retreat.

Will there be educational credits or CEUs offered for this opportunity?
At this time, we will not be offering educational credits or CEUs. However, we hope this does not discourage you from considering this incredible opportunity!

Do we fill out applications as an individual or an organization?
Every individual will submit their own application, but we are looking for approximately 2--8 people from the same organization/agency or community to join. There is power in numbers!

What do you mean by the same organization/agency or community can apply and attend together?
You can either have 4--8 people from one agency, or 4--8 people who work with different agencies or on their own, but support the same geographic or cultural community. For example, a group can include: an early intervention provider from one agency, a couple of independent infant mental health providers, and a doula who all work in the same school district in Baltimore. The same group of providers from different agencies can also come together because they all work with the Haitian community in Miami.

What are my commitments after I finish the program?
We hope when you finish attending this program, you will start a reflective practice group in your area. This can be accomplished by a supervisor holding a group with the people they supervise, a group of colleagues coming together regularly in an agency, or a group of colleagues coming together from different agencies in the same geographic or cultural community.

What if I can’t make all the dates?
Due to the anticipated high demand and limited capacity, we kindly request that accepted applicants commit to attending all dates. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, we hope all accepted participants will prioritize and demonstrate their utmost dedication to fully engage in the program and be a part of this exciting community. Please see the dates and times here.

IF I apply and do not get in, will there be another opportunity to apply?
We hope to offer more opportunities in the future and will reach out should another one arise. Thank you for understanding!
